Shingles (Herpes Zoster) Vaccine

Service Description

i) Helps prevent shingles, a painful, blistering rash caused by reactivation of the chickenpox virus in the body. ii) Helps prevent long-lasting nerve pain (post-herpetic neuralgia), which can persist for months or years after the rash heals and affect sleep and daily activities. iii) Recommended for adults aged 50 years and above. Also suitable for eligible adults aged 18 years and above who are at increased risk, including those with weakened immune systems, following doctor assessment. iv) Given as 2 doses, usually 2–6 months apart. Some patients with weakened immune systems may need a shorter interval, as advised by the doctor. v) A non-live vaccine that cannot cause chickenpox or shingles.
