RSV Vaccine

Service Description

i) Helps protect against serious lung infections caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). ii) For adults aged 60 years and above, especially those with chronic heart or lung conditions. iii) Recommended at 32–36 weeks of pregnancy. Vaccination helps the mother produce protective antibodies, which pass to the baby through the placenta. These antibodies help protect the baby against serious RSV lung infections during the first 6 months after birth, when babies are particularly vulnerable. iv) Given as a single dose, subject to doctor assessment and suitability.
